All right, now onto how I made this sucker, lol. This was created over the course of
two days in Illustrator. Everything is hand-drawn vector art that I based off of various
references around the internet. I really wanted to get a realistic look and feel with
this, so I used a lot of gradients, effects, and blend modes. My two favorite objects
are obviously the candle and the quill plus the inkwell, the two things that I spent
the most time on. I'm not sure that the movie reel is entirely accurate (it sort of looks
like a wheel rim, haha) but I tried to get everything else right. I just really love how
it all came together and that it feels like a scene. The writing on the parchment is
actually the opening paragraph from CyneNoir's prose entry, so go read the rest!

This piece was great art therapy for me since I'm currently recovering from having
all four of my wisdom teeth pulled. I find the pen tool so therapeutic and soothing!
Maybe that makes me a design nerd... but I like to think that I'm not the only one.
